
Dipl.-Phys. Dr. rer. nat. Marion Tönhardt
German Patent Attorney, European Patent and Trade Mark Attorney, Partner, Duesseldorf
studied physics and computer sciences at the Technical University of Braunschweig and obtained her doctorate in 1987 at the Institute for Theoretical Physics. She then gained experience in the field of intellectual property rights in South East Asia whilst working for a Chinese Patent Attorneys Office in Hong Kong. An internship for several weeks at the Chinese Patent Office in Beijing followed where she was able to round off her experiences in this area.
Dr. Tönhardt advises clients on obtaining patents and developing patent portfolios as well as on the defence of intellectual property rights. Her particular specialty is in the field of microelectronics; she is particularly interested in the protection of computer software and in patent related problems in connection with the Internet.
