Dipl. Biol. Vera Kühr
studied biology at Kiel University with a focus on molecular biology. Her studies also included biochemistry and microbiology and her diploma thesis was focused on gene expression studies, including biochemical aspects. For preparing her doctoral thesis, at the Institute for Plant Breeding at Hohenheim University (Stuttgart, Germany), she worked on gene expression studies in agricultural crops with related aspects of population genetics. She focused on a molecular approach by protein and nucleic acid analysis to gain insight in the regulation of starch metabolism.
She is active in the field of life sciences, including genetics, biochemistry, immunology, cell biology, biotechnology and pharmaceutics.
