studied electronic engineering with a focus on communications technology at the Technical University of Munic as well as the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the USA.
Prior to joining BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in 2011, Felix Hermann worked for nine years for a renowned IP law firm in Munich. He has extensive experience in conducting proceedings and hearings at the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the European Patent Office (EPA) and the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG).
In his professional capacity as a patent attorney, he concentrates on applications for technical intellectual property rights, namely patents and utility models, accompanying clients through examination procedures, in opposition and invalidity proceedings and the assertion of IP rights. In addition, he advises companies in the creation and maintenance of patent portfolios as well as the creation and implementation of national and global patent strategies. Felix Hermann areas of expertise include, in particular, communications technology (especially wireless networks), audio and video coding software, public key infrastructures and digital payment systems. His work also covers the preparation of and assistance in patent applications in the field of mobile telephony standardisation of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), i.e. UMTS, LTE, LTE Advanced.
