Dipl.-Chem. Dr. rer. nat. Karl-Heinz Metten
German Patent Attorney, European Patent and Trade Mark Attorney, Partner, Frankfurt
studied chemistry and computer science at the Universities of Bochum and Dortmund. He received his PhD in organic chemistry focussing on stereoselective synthesis of drug targets and the chemistry of saccharides. As a postdoctoral fellow he specialized in organometallic chemistry at Imperial College, London (GB), and at the Chemistry Department of the University of Cambridge (GB). After working as a patent attorney trainee in a patent law firm in Hamburg he joined the patent and license department of a major German chemical company where he practised for five years mainly in the fields of engineering plastics (manufacture and applications) as well as catalysts. He is still particularly interested in the above-mentioned topics.
