Dr.-Ing. Roland Liesegang
German Patent Attorney, European Patent and Trade Mark Attorney, Partner, Munich
studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe. After graduation he worked as a development engineer for Siemens AG in the design of pneumatic control devices. Later he became Assistant Professor at the Department of Machine Elements and Automotive Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe where he acquired a PhD degree.
Roland Liesegang has worked as a Patent Attorney since 1970, initially in his own practice, and since 1987 as a Partner at BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT. His technical expertise encompasses many fields of mechanical and electrical engineering and he specializes in automotive engineering, surface coating technology, precision mechanics, printer technology and computer peripherals. He works for German and Swiss clients, as well as for large international corporations, in many areas of industrial property protection, including patent enforcement, infringement proceedings, license negotiations and gives general advice on patent law matters.
Besides his work as a Patent Attorney, Roland Liesegang has given numerous seminars and lectures. In 1994, the Chinese Patent Organization recognized his outstanding contribution to promoting the patent system in China.
For many years, Roland Liesegang was a member of the editorial staff of the journal "Mitteilungen der deutschen Patentanwälte" published by the UNION of the European Patent Attorneys. He is also a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), and the Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle (FICPI).
