studied biochemistry at the University of Bochum. He carried out both his diploma and doctoral theses in the field of cell biology at the Rockefeller University in New York. Subsequently, he worked as a postdoctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the field of structural biology. His research was published in various journals, among them “Molecular Cell”, “Nature Structural and Molecular Biology”, “Journal of Cell Biology” and “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences”.
His work at BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT focuses on German and international intellectual property law; in particular, he is involved in obtaining, enforcing and contesting industrial property rights in all fields of chemistry, biology, biotechnology and pharmacology for his clients. He also advises numerous German, American and Asian companies on the creation of international patent portfolios.
Thomas Böhmer is a member of the Institute of German Patent Attorneys (Patentanwaltskammer), the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI), the Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle (FICPI), and the Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP).
