Studied physics majoring in Solid State Physics (Dipl.-Phys., equivalent to MSc) at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. In his professional work as Patent Attorney being especially active with respect to "Technical" Intellectual Property Rights, namely Patents and Utility Models, both in Application and Prosecution as well as in Litigation and Licensing. He is further active in consulting and developing company IP procedures and internal IP structures. Beside his professional career in Europe, he has been for 2 years in Japan, from 1995 to 1997, working with a Patent Attorneys Office in Osaka, the Patent Department of Ebara Corporation and the Intellectual Property Department of Sony Corporation in Tokyo. He is regularly teaching IP at the Tokai University, Tokyo, Japan, and at the University of Advanced Sciences, Kiel, Germany, and he frequently gives lectures regarding IP Matters, e.g. for WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation), the European Patent Office EPO, VDI (Association of German Engineers) etc.
